And no I’m not talking about this Missy Elliot song everyone awkwardly danced to at middle school dances. The Dutch House Tavern is a quintessential “dive bar” located in Fair Lawn, NJ. What makes The Dutch different than your run of the mill bar you might ask? Not only are the drinks great, (and huge, take my word for it) the food is some of the best around. Along with their standard lunch/dinner menu, The Dutch has a changing specials board if you’re looking for something a little different.
I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, and to say it was great would be an understatement. The sandwich came out of the kitchen smothered with bbq sauce and loaded with mozzarella cheese and fried onions. It was easily the size of my head. After finishing one half, I got a to-go bag for the rest which I immediately ate as soon as I got home.
For a great neighborhood atmosphere, come for the drinks and stay for the food. When it’s warm outside there are outdoor tables on the front porch which will let you enjoy a pleasant afternoon/evening. For the killer food/drink combo, I give the Dutch House a rating of Ice Cold Brewski
